Pairs uses a single deck of 52 cards. All of the cards are dealt into 4 rows of 13 cards.

In the options page it is possible to select the 'Difficulty' from a range of 1 to 4 with 4 being the most difficult. The difficulty range changes the time that the cards are face up making it more difficult for the player to memorise the cards.

The objective is to remove all of the cards from play by matching them in pairs.

Play the game by choosing two cards to flip over. If they are the same rank, they count as a pair and will be dimmed and removed from play. If not, both cards are flipped back to be face down again, and then the player chooses another two cards to flip over. The game ends when the last pair has been matched. The challenge is to remember where cards of a particular rank are located.

The game also records the game play statistics including:-

Games Played
Games Won
Longest Steak
High Score
Best Time
Average Time
Win Rate

The game statistics add a competitive element to the game so that you can compete against friends and family to become the Pairs champion!

The scoring is as follows:

Pair matched +100
Pair not matching -10

If matching consecutive pairs are found then This is called a 'Streak' A streak is broken when a pair does not match.
